Wacholder (Band)

Juniper was a German folk band. It existed from 1978 to 2001.

History

Beginning of 1978, six pioneering students of the College of Engineering Cottbus, including gravel Matthias Kiessling, Ko Jörg Kokott, Steffen Junghans and Scarlett Seeboldt, the group Juniper. A little later resigned from two members. As a quartet won juniper in the same year the Audience Award of the 11th workshop week in Leipzig. Three of the musicians decided in 1980 to work after completing her musical education at the Conservatory as a professional musician. In May 1980, Erik Kross was added. 1981 published four pieces of tape on the compilation A boiler red. In 1982, Almut Walther and Mathias Wegner vultures members of junipers. The repertoire included German folk songs and original compositions.

In the same year the first Heinrich-Heine- program the band was born. 1986 left Almut Walther and Jörg Kokott the group. In the 1990s, the band developed a number of new programs. Since 1993, juniper consisted of Scarlett O ' (actually Seeboldt ), Jörg Kokott and Matthias Kiessling. 2001, dissolved the band, but organized from January to June 2008, a tour to the 30 - year anniversary of juniper. After the band broke up again.
