Waders (footwear)

A wader is a garment which of the various professional groups (such as firemen, fishermen, construction workers ) is used, a longer time to work in dry clothes in the aquatic environment. The waders consists of a partial body suit made of nylon or neoprene, which protects the body from water either to the waist or to the chest. On the legs the waders and waterproof rubber boots with stitched or welded. At the top of the waders a rubber band is usually attached, prevent water gets into dry pants inside.

It is often argued that the waders can fill with water and so can pull the carrier under water. However, this is physically impossible, since the water in the waders no greater density than the water in the water body. It comes in this case, no additional down force by acting. There is a risk but if you delve into the water with the upper body. The buoyancy of air inside the waders can drive the legs to the water surface, which in turn keeps the upper body under water. Also may not be used in rivers waders, as they fill up like a parachute with water and tear the carrier under water. Furthermore, caution should be exercised as a water-filled waders a higher surface for flowing water provides as a snug. This has occurred more frequently fatal accidents. For this reason Waders should always be worn together with lifejackets.

The waders similar but however reaching only up to the step, are the boots. In addition, there are special Wading. They usually have a felt or rubber sole and ensure when wearing booties a secure footing
