Wakiso District

Wakiso is a district in central Uganda. Like nearly all 112 districts of Uganda, he is named after its chief town.

Location

In the north, Wakiso borders the districts of Luwero and Nakaseke, to the east by Mukono and the capital district of Kampala - which is largely surrounded by Wakiso -, on the west by Mpigi and Mityana and on the south by Lake Victoria, the islands belong to Kalangala district.

Population

The Wakiso district is located in the territory of the people of the Baganda. With 957,280 inhabitants it is the second most populous after Kampala district of Uganda.
