Waldbillig

Forest Cheap ( Luxembourgish Waldbëlleg ) is a municipality in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in the canton of Echternach.

Composition of the community

The municipality consists of the villages Waldbillig:

• Christnach
• Freckeisen
• Haller
• Müllerthal
• Savelborn
• Waldbillig

Müllerthal

The municipality belonging to village Müller valley forms the center of the " Little Switzerland " tourist area. Particularly noteworthy is the valley of the Black Ernz with the known Schiessentümpel ( Luxembourgish Schéissendëmpel ). North West of the town is located in the forest, the ruins of Heringen.

The community is member of the following local organizations: Mantien -a- domicile - Medernach, SIAEE, SIDEST, SIGRE, Syndicat d' eau Savelborn - Freckeisen, Syvicol.

The name Waldbillig became famous through the forest cheap affair of 1985, the one next to the bomber affair of the biggest cases of the Luxembourg criminal history. Carlo fat, the leader of the gang, lived in Forest Cheap.

Economy and infrastructure

The place Christnach is known for its golf course, but is estimated and tourists alike. Waldbillig offers a school ( Primaire ) Précoce and Préscolaire. There are several companies, including electricians and nebenerwerbliche farms, small craft businesses and other employers. The community forest has cheap gastronomic two hotels and a mill called Heringer Millen in the district Mullethal to offer and the famous Schiessentümpel.
