The forest houses bolt ( 1151 m ) is a mountain in the Bavarian Forest northeast of the city Grafenau and is located in the core zone of the Bavarian Forest National Park near the border with the Czech Republic ( about two kilometers ). Its summit is deforested, but the slopes are almost completely covered by coniferous forests.

The nearest settlement is the village of Waldhäuser the community Neuschoenau. Next mountains northeast of the Lusen ( 1373 m) and east of the hollow rock ( 1315 m).
