Wallenberg is an opera in two acts by Erkki -Sven Tüür.

It is about the Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg, and his support for the rescue of Hungarian Jews during the Holocaust. Wallenberg was abducted later to Moscow. The libretto is by Lutz Hübner. The premiere was on May 5, 2001 at the Opera Dortmund. 2012, the opera was performed at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe.

Origin and Classification

The Estonian composer Erkki -Sven Tüür was in the 80's composer, flautist, keyboardist and singer of chamber music Estonian rock band " In Spe ", which was one of the most successful bands in Estonia. Erkki -Sven Tüür was a founding member and studied in Karlsruhe electronics.
