Hualca Hualca seen from the south

The Hualca Hualca is an extinct volcano 6025 meters high in the Andes in southern Peru and is located about 110 km northwest of Arequipa.

The Hualca Hualca is the northernmost part of a 20 km long north -suede chain of three large stratovolcanoes. At the southern end is the dormant 6288 -meter high Ampato and in the middle of the 5976 m high active Sabancaya. The Hualca Hualca originated during the Pliocene and early Quaternary, during which the summit probably reached a height of about 6500m.
