Walperswil is a municipality in the administrative district in the canton of Bern Seeland in Switzerland. It consists of the districts Walperswil and Gimmiz.

Geography

The neighboring municipalities in the north clockwise are starting Epsach, Bühl BE, BE chapels, Bargen BE, Siselen, Hagneck and Täuffelen. The southern boundary of the municipality is the Aare in Hagneckkanal.

A monument of national importance was inaugurated on 20 May 2006 in Walperswil. This is the north end of the base line in the Great Marsh, which was made ​​on the initiative of the Bernese Heritage Society under monument protection. The 13 km route between Walperswil and Sugiez FR was last measured in 1834 for the Dufour map; they thus certain until the end of the 19th century, the geometric size of Switzerland.
