History
Walsleben was named by Thietmar of Merseburg, in his chronicle to 929, in 1018 for the first time in writing, and had in the past city rights.

After implementation of the amended contract territory of the previously independent municipality Walsleben Walsleben and Uchtenhagen are districts of the new Hanse town Osterburg ( Altmark).
