Walt Davis

Walt Davis (Walter Francis "Buddy" Davis, born January 5, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas ) is a retired American high jumper and basketball player.

In 1952, he was U.S. champion and won at the Olympic Games in Helsinki with a height of 2.04 m. In 1953 he defended his national title with a world record height of 2.12 m.

After his Olympic victory Davis was a professional basketball player in 1952. He played five seasons for the Philadelphia Warriors and St. Louis Hawks.
