Walter Corbo

Walter Luis Corbo ( born 2 May 1949 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player.

Association

Goalkeeper Walter Corbo, brother of football player Ruben Corbo, began his career at Racing in Montevideo. He was a member from 1970 to 1974 and again in 1976 the squad Peñarols in the Primera División to. 1973 and 1974 won Corbo processed with in these seasons of Juan Ricardo Faccio, Hugo Bagnulo and José María Rodríguez assisted as a coach each Aurinegros the Uruguayan championship. In the course of his career he played for the Mexican club Monterrey then and almost two years for the Brazilian club Gremio. With the latter club, he won the state championship in 1977 in Rio Grande do Sul. Up until about the mid-1980s he was then in Argentina in rows of San Lorenzo. For San Lorenzo, he played a total of 48 games and was team captain. From there he moved to Argentinos Juniors. But there he stood behind compatriot Mario Gualberto all, so he finally returned only in the second row to San Lorenzo. However, he came there no longer used. 1982 Corbo played yet for River Plate.

National

Corbo was also a member of the senior national team of Uruguay, where he graduated from eleven matches between February 8, 1971 to June 9, 1976. He suffered 21 goals. Corbo took part in the 1970 World Cup with Uruguay. For use in the course of the tournament, he came, however, not.
