Walter Forster (actor)

Walter Gerhard Forster ( born March 23, 1917 in Campinas, Brazil, † September 3, 1996 in São Paulo, Brazil) was a Brazilian actor, radio and television presenter.

Life

Forster's paternal grandparents had immigrated from Germany to Brazil, his mother came from German-speaking Switzerland. From 1935 on, he was spokesman and subsequently also editor for various radio stations in the state of São Paulo. 1950 founded the broadcaster Rádio Tupi, the first television program in Brazil, TV Tupi, which went to São Paulo on September 18, 1950 broadcast. As artistic director of Rádio Tupi Walter Forster was instrumental in the planning, organization and program design of the first television station in the country. In Forster's idea is the first telenovela in television history, Sua Vida Me Pertence back, which aired 21 December 1951 in 25 episodes on two days per week of TV Tupi. Forster was not only a writer and director of this novela, but stood as an actor before the camera. In addition to his now following activity as a moderator, author and developer of programs from different broadcasters Forster remained also the radio as a presenter faithful. In addition, he joined since the mid- 1960s on as an actor in soap operas and movies. After his wife, with whom he had been married since 1942 and with whom he had two children, who died in 1983, Forster drew largely back from his regular radio and television broadcasting, but still took numerous engagements as an actor at.
