Walter Schuck

Walter Schuck ( born July 30, 1920 in Frankenholz, Saarland ) is a former German Air Force officer, last lieutenant and highly decorated fighter pilot in World War II.

Life

Schuck was formed at the beginning of World War II in the Air Force fighter pilot. Then he came to the hunt group " Stavanger " and in April 1942 with the 7th season of the JG 5 to Petsamo. His first air victory came on May 15, 1942., The German Cross in Gold was awarded to him on August 2, 1943, 54 air victories, and he was promoted to sergeant. On October 13, 1943, he achieved three victories in one day.

The Knight's Cross was awarded to him as a Sergeant on April 8, 1944, after 84 victories. The promotion to lieutenant on 1 June 1944. The 100th aerial victory he could win on May 15, 1944. On June 17, 1944, he shot from twelve opponents in one day. On September 30, 1944 he was awarded the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross for 172 aerial victories. As a lieutenant, he was transferred on January 1, 1945 Captain of the 10th season and in February 1945 Jagdgeschwader 7, where he was trained on the Me 262. With the Me 262, he won another eight victories and became captain of the 3rd season of Jagdgeschwader 7 Overall, he won 206 victories, 30 more have not confirmed it. 1945 came Schuck in British captivity.

In 2008 he was invited to participate in the world's biggest Militariamesse in Louisville (Kentucky). Also the airman Joseph "Joe" Peterburs, who once shot down Schuck, took part in it. Today, the two good friends.
