Walzenhausen

Walzenhausen is a municipality in the canton of Appenzell front Ausserrhoden in Switzerland.

Geography

Walzenhausen is located on the eastern spurs of the hills of the Appenzell country and is divided into several districts. The center of the municipality is located at the mountain railway rolling Rheineck Bahnhof on a north slope above Rheineck. The nearby Lake Constance is about 300 meters deep, so that one has from there a beautiful panorama of Lake Constance region. In a southeasterly direction is Walzenhausen place in a small valley that descends after St.Margrethen. In this municipality, the monastery Grimm stone, which forms an exclave of the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden.
