Wang Thonglang District

Wang ThonglangThis ( Thai วังทองหลาง ) is one of the 50 districts (Khet ) of Bangkok, capital of Thailand.

Geography

The neighboring districts are from clockwise from the north: Lat Phrao, Bang Kapi, Huai Khwang and Chatuchak.

History

The district was established on 21 November 1997 by the Sub-district, Wang Thonglang and part of Khlong Chan Bang Kapi District, also a part of the subdistrict Lat Phrao were combined into a total area of ​​19.205 km ². On 11 March 2002, the district boundary between Wang Thonglang and Lat Phrao was corrected so that Wang Thonglang is only 18.905 km ² today.

Traffic

Despite its name, the Lard Phrao Road does not pass through the district of the same name, but some 100 meters south of it. It begins at the Thanon Phahonyothin ( Phahonyothin Road ) and ends in Bang Kapi.

On the road there are two metro stations of Bangkok Metro: Phahon Yothin and Lat Phrao. The metro station Lat Phrao is located between Thanon Ratchadapisek ( Ratchadapisek Road ) and Thanon Phahonyothin. Here also a park -and-ride service is furnished.
