Wangnitzsee

The Wangnitzsee ( WGS ) located on the territory of the municipality Priepert in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Its size is 190 acres. The lake is highly structured with several smaller islands. It has an east-west extent of about 2.6 km and a width of up to 800 meters. North-west of the lake lies the little Wangnitzsee. To the south, close to the Small and Large Priepertsee. The lake is crossed at its western edge of the Havel. Its 400 meters wide at the western part of OHW - km 75.4 is a so-called other inland waterways of the covenant, which belongs to the Federal Waterway Upper Havel Waterway ( OHW ); responsible is the Waterways and Shipping Office Eberswalde.

The Wangnitzsee offers among other things a habitat for sea and fish eagles, otters, European pond turtle and kingfisher. Due to the small depth of the lake is breeding and spawning grounds for walleye. Since it is closed to motor boat traffic, it offers good conditions hikers water.
