Warhammer Ancient Battles

Warhammer Ancient Battle (also WHAB ) is a so-called tabletop game by Games Workshop, in which historical figures armies of metal (usually a tin alloy ) fight on gaming tables according to complex rules against each other.

Game

Warhammer Ancient Battles ( WAB also ) mostly uses the rules of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. The lack of magic, monsters, and strong character models makes the game very balanced and tactically. The different peoples differ most technically less than, for example, in Warhammer Fantasy. But there are also army lists that are disproportionately: For example, Crusaders, Sumerian chariot armies and some German lists.

In sourcebooks certain peoples regarding background, special rules and miniatures are described. In addition, there are books with rules extensions, special rules and background material. In Germany Warhammer Ancient Battle is not as widespread as the fantasy or science fiction variants and is therefore referred to as a specialist system. Rules are therefore also available in English only.

Beginners in the German area are best advised with an antique army, for example, Romans, because these people are the most played and one finds accordingly players.
