Warren Rychel

Warren Stanley Rychel ( born May 12, 1967 in Strathroy - Caradoc, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who for the Chicago Blackhawks, Los Angeles Kings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in between 1992 and 1999 the National Hockey League was active on the position of the left winger. He is currently General Manager of the Ontario Hockey League clubs Windsor Spitfires.

Career

Warren Rychel was not like most players selected in the Entry Draft of a franchise, but instead he received in 1987 directly as a contract offer the Chicago Blackhawks. For the Blackhawks, the attacker completed in five years, only five games, most of the time he spent in Chicago's farm teams Saginaw Hawks and Indianapolis Ice of the International Hockey League. In July 1991 he was transferred to the Winnipeg Jets, for whom he never played. After a further exchange with the Minnesota North Stars, the striker signed at the beginning of the 1992/93 season a contract with the Los Angeles Kings.

In Los Angeles became Rychel to a regular player for the Californians, he completed 157 games. During the 1994/95 season he was sent by the Kings to the Toronto Maple Leafs, for whom he had an injury, however, only 26 missions. The following season he spent with the Colorado Avalanche and won with the team the Stanley Cup. After this season, he joined the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. On 24 March 1998 he was transferred from the Mighty Ducks back to the Avalanche, where he played only 36 games before he announced the end of the NHL season 1998/99 he will retire from active competition. The Enforcer completed a total of 406 NHL games, but he got 1422 penalty minutes.

Since 2006, Warren Rychel is Vice President and General Manager of the Windsor Spitfires, a Canadian ice hockey team of the Ontario Hockey League. In 2009 he was honored by the League Executive of the Year.
