Wasbek

Wasbek is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

Wasbek is just west of Neumünster. To the west of Akrug Nature Park to the municipality borders. To the east runs the Federal Highway 7 from Hamburg to Flensburg through the outskirts of the village area and can be reached via the middle exit Neumünster. The Federal Highway 430 from Neumünster to Meldorf runs in an east-west direction through the municipality.

The village also lies on the northern runway served by the railway line Neumünster Heath. Wasbek and the district Bullenbek are connected via a bus to the city of Neumünster.

The creek flows Aalbek from north to south through the town, the Bullenbek limits the municipality in the east.

Policy

Wasbek has leaked 15 June 2008, the Office Aukrug and has since formed an administrative community with the city of Neumünster, with performing the administrative affairs of the community.

Municipal council

Of the 15 seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections in 2013 six seats, the SPD four seats, voters Community BMW has three seats and voters Community FD two.

• The disabled swimmer and Paralympic gold medalist Kirsten Bruhn (* 1969 ) lives in Wasbek.
• Bernd Küpper Busch ( born 1955 ), SPD politician and Secretary of State since 2012, lives in Wasbek and belonged to the Wasbeker local council.
