Waterdown

Waterdown was a post-hardcore band from Osnabrück. Waterdown was founded in 2000 and consisted of five members. In early 2012 the band gave their resolution known.

Band History

In early 2000 the band was formed in their original formation and consisted of former members of various bands from the area Ibbenbüren.

The first songs appeared on the EP drawasmilingface at Two Friends Recordings. In their Germany tour as support levels, the U.S. punk label Victory Records took notice of Waterdown, and took them under contract. This Waterdown was the first German band with a contract with this influential label.

2001 appeared the first album titled Never Kill the Boy on the First Date, and followed by a tour of Europe and America joined.

Using The Files You Have on Me the second album was released in 2003. 2004, vocalist Marcel Bischoff the band for personal reasons.

2005, the new singer Michael ' prongs ' Janczak was added, with the album All Riot was recorded. Produced All Riot by Ingo Knollmann of the Donots. The album was released in late January 2006.

Mid-2007, dissolved the band by their record company Victory Records. Waterdown stated that Victory Records have it except literally and even asked fans at a concert, to download their albums from the Internet. This is to their advantage and to the detriment of their record company. After a few months without a record label, the band released on May 16, 2008, the self-produced EP Power Snake at the label Blacktop Records.

In early 2012 the band gave on their website their resolution known. The last album Into The Flames appeared on March 23, 2012 on Uncle M / Cargo Records. A farewell tour in Germany took place in April and May 2012.

Style

The band's style is a hand characterized by harmonious melody lines, the hard, bellowed vocals and the sung part, on the other hand, by breakdowns, harsh distorted guitars and pounding mosh parts. Basically, the band can be assigned to the post-hardcore, metallic new school hardcore and rock influences round out the picture.

Compared it is therefore often associated with bands like boysetsfire and similar post-hardcore bands.

At Green Light the sound of the band is described especially on the first album as follows:
