Waterfront Blues Festival

The Waterfront Blues Festival is taking place every since 1987 Blues Festival in Portland, Oregon. It is the second largest blues festival in the USA. The festival takes place on the west bank of the Willamette River in Tom McCall Waterfront Park. The artists on five stages occur in this case.

History

The Blue Festival was founded in 1987 as Rose City Blues Festival and named in 1991 in Waterfront Blues Festival has to offer. From the beginning it was the application of donations. The first organization that received grants were the Burnside Community Council 's projects for the homeless. In 1988 the Oregon Food Share, the predecessor of the Oregon Food Bank, the funds. The aim of this organization is to assist the hungry in Oregon. It was also Miller Genuine Draft this year, the first title sponsor. 2000 Safeway became the title sponsor. Back in 1987, began the local radio station KBOO with transmissions of concerts of the festival, which is continued by the station today.
