Waterview Tower

The Waterview Tower is currently dormant construction site of a skyscraper in downtown Chicago. Construction began in 2006 and two years later, in 2008, set at the height of the 26th floor. The planned height of 319 meters so far at 90 floors.

Description

The building was designed on a used for a long time as a parking area and is to be used as a hotel and residential building according to the original plans of Teng & Associates. The address of the site is 111 West Wacker Drive.

The Waterview Tower will be 319 feet tall and have 90 floors. Thus, the Waterview Tower would be the fifth tallest building in Chicago after the Willis Tower, Trump International Hotel & Tower, the Aon Center and the John Hancock Center. In contrast to most of the high-rise modern buildings will not have continuous glass facade, but individually inserted window elements. The supporting elements are made of reinforced concrete.

The floors 2 to 11 include parking area for hotel guests and residents. On the floors 12 to 27, the hotel chain Shangri -La Hotels and Resorts 200 is used. The floors 30-88 contain luxurious living space.

The works were intended to be completed by the end of 2009. Because of the financial crisis, the work was stopped in late 2008 for an indefinite period on the 26th floor. Time, it has been exits from completing the earliest in 2012, but was called after 2010 no exact date more. However, the remaining crane was removed from the site in the summer of 2009, suggesting that the work will continue for the foreseeable future. In November 2010 it was reported a new investor may plan to take over the project to the Waterview Tower will use as an office building. According to these plans, the building will comprise only 60 instead of the planned 90 floors. A precise altitude and clear timetables are not yet known.
