Wayne Peet

Wayne Edward Peet ( born June 12, 1954 in Dallas, Texas ) is an American musician ( piano and organ), arranger, composer and music producer who is especially active in the jazz scene of the American West Coast.

Life and work

Peet began seven years playing the piano; he had first appearances during his youth in churches of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California. At first he also played trombone. After attending Westmont College (1973-1977), he was one with John Rapson of the founding members of the Frobisher Hall Art Ensemble. In 1978 he moved to Los Angeles, where initially played with John Rapson, then he worked in the 1980s with Alex Cline, Nels Cline, Vinny Golia and Steuart Liebig; Recordings were made at this time for Golias Label Ninewinds. In addition, Peet worked as a composer for film and television productions; also worked as a producer and engineer for the label Ninewinds, pfMentum, Blue Note, Enja, Atavistic, Little Brother, SST and other labels. 1992-94 he wrote arrangements for Brian Setzer, played in 2000 at Bobby Bradford and was in 2005 as a sound engineer on the first album (EP) of the formation Leviathan Brothers involved.
