History

After the discovery by Jimmy Iovine 2003, the band worked in the years to her first work.

On 1 August 2005, the first single "Someday " was released from the album " We The People ". " Someday" is the official song for the Olympic Winter Games, which were held in Turin from 10 to 26 February 2006. Extra one the games adapted video was shot for the new function of the song.

On February 3, 2006, Flipsyde reported back with the second single " Happy Birthday" from a new edition of her album " We The People ". In consultation with t.A.T.u. They borrowed not only the melody that comes from their song " Gomenasai " from the album "Dangerous and Moving ", but also used the same eingesungenen Yulia Volkova and Elena Katina chorus. This was then sung in receiving Volkova. In live performances then sang but both tATu Singers. The song could be kept for three weeks at # 1 on the Czech charts. The next single release was " Trumpets ", which in a separate single version ( Trumpets ( Never Be The Same Again) ) was published on July 7, 2006.

In Japan and India published Flipsyde additional two bonus tracks.

On 24 November 2006 the fifth single Angel appeared in the trade.

Style

The music direction of We the People can not be clearly defined. The album is heavily influenced by the guitarist with Chilean roots of Latin American style like merengue. The MC Piper represents more hip- hop and singer Steve Knight 's skirt, or sometimes Soul. The song Someday represents the average Flipsyde title: crossover between rock and hip- hop. Spun, however, is heavily influenced by Latin. With No More Angel and only two quiet pop songs are on the album. The single Trumpets can be nowhere lane and created something entirely new: The quiet bass guitar is set to loop, the DJ is irregular beats to while later chiming in a played by Clyde Sutcliff trumpet. Happy Birthday constitutes an exception, it is the only track without guitars and singer Knight.

In addition, the lyrics were certainly critical. In the song Train criticizing the then U.S. President Bush and U.S. History brings Piper his anger at American foreign policy expressed. The song Happy Birthday is, as the title might be possibly appear, no ordinary birthday song. The track was written from the perspective of Piper for his unborn child who was aborted and thus could experience no actual birthday. A quirky, yet sad, and above all very poignant mood that runs through the entire song, supported by a contemplative piano melody. The track Someday is about coping with emotional disaster, the fourth single Angel tells of the love of a mother for her son, who lives on the street and only retains his will to survive, because he knows that she believes in him.

Critical reception

The opinions of We the People varied widely.

RPonline and Pooltrax Flipsyde compare with the Black Eyed Peas and Linkin Park and praising the album as a successful crossover of rock, rap and Latin. Piper is referred to as a strong MC and the texts as a world of improvement and critical. " A total of three round album of the Sunday ingen California, which one should listen to quiet times ," writes the author of RPonline Moritz Tillmann, where he had ignore the fact that Flipsyde time were four of us. Sputnik Music writes that it is good time to listen to other hip -hop than usual and that We the People surpasses almost every other hip-hop albums.

Laut.de however, criticized the style as without identity: " The mixture of all, it was perhaps not before, this album delivers as well, like the reason why, it just sounds too contrived to " Alexander Engelen wrote.
