WebWeaver Suite

WebWeaver Suite is a commercial web-based learning and community platform. The DigiOnline by the company GmbH developed and distributed software provides tools for collaboration and communication. Part of WebWeaver Suite is a Content Management System (CMS) for creating and managing websites.

History

Developers aim in 1999 was to allow for education professionals in protected online workspaces first steps in the collaborative use of digital media. The development of software oriented towards both educational and organizational needs of educational institutions. Since 2004, follows WebWeaver suite with the standard version one institution -oriented approach.

Concept

The learning platform is in the standard version in the areas of private ( personal desktop), Institution (tools for all members of an educational institution and institution- internal groups and classes), community ( cross- tools as well as open and closed groups for all members of the platform ), E -Learning ( online courses ) and e-content ( media distribution ) divided. Objectives of the platform are

Areas of application

The software is mostly used in an educational context as a learning and community platform. It is, among other technical basis for the German schools free use of learning platform lo -net ² and the learning platform offered by the Swiss education server educanet ² as well as the learning, communication and work platform qualiboXX.

Desktop Tool

The web-based software is complemented by WebWeaver desktop than on the user's computer to install desktop tool. This includes a Messenger, a convenient access to the file storage of the platform drag and drop as well as other functions such as a separate storage of digital panel paintings. WebWeaver Desktop can also be used as a portable version on a USB stick.

Mobile use

For mobile access to the Messenger of the platform there is an app for the iPhone. Furthermore, there is a app available that provide access to messenger, file storage, notes, and system messages for the iPad. About the browser of iPhones and iPads are all functions of the Webweaver suite available.
