Wedel - Jarlsberg Land is a region in the south of the island of Spitsbergen on Svalbard. Your boundaries run from the top of Van lobe fjords by the Zawadzkibreen, west past and Nornebreen and Mühlbacherbreen to Burgerbukta at Hornsund on Kopernikusfjellet. To the north is the Bellsund, in the west the open Greenland Sea. To the east is bordered Wedel - Jarlsberg Land of Torell Land. Wedel - Jarlsberg country, except for some trapper cabins, largely uninhabited. In the Bay Isbjørnhamna at Hornsund is a Polish research station.

North of Van lobe fjords, the peninsula joins Nathorst country. To the south of Hornsund is the Sørkapp country.

Wedel Jarlsberg - country is named after Herman Wedel Jarlsberg Hartvig Fredrik (1855-1942), had the major role in ensuring that, Norway 's sovereignty was assured on Svalbard in the Spitsbergen Treaty, which was signed in 1920 in Paris.

The peninsula is a wholly owned Sør- Spitsbergen National Park (1 on the map) and takes up more than half of its surface. Also the east subsequent Torrell Land belongs to the National Park. The southern third is occupied by Sørkapp country.
