Wei Zheng
Wei Zheng (魏征, Weizheng, * 580, † 643 ) was a Chinese politician and consultant of Chinese emperors.
Life
Wei Zheng sprang from a family of small officials in today's Hebei, the first of the Northern Wei, and later served the Northern Qi.
From the consultant under Li Mi Li Jiancheng
He served as an influential adviser in the personal staff of the honorable rebel Li Mi, who eventually Tang submitted himself .. So he was assigned to the personal staff of Li Jiancheng, the firstborn and official heir of Emperor Gaozu of the claim of his son Li Shimin to the throne very afraid. Li Jiancheng was killed by Li Shimin 626 during the attack at the Xuanwu Gate.
From Empire consultant under Li Shimin to Taizong
Li Shimin wanted to know some time later, why Wei Zheng had quarreled with Li Jiancheng. Wei replied then with his well-known frankness that Li Jiancheng had not adopted its Action Plan and that he had not been defeated, he would have followed them. Li Shimin, affected by this frankness and aware of the career and skills of Wei Zheng, decided to spare him and take in his team: Wei Zheng was compensated, received a title of nobility and was appointed Reich consultant.
With this fundamental change, the new emperor Taizong made from the former adviser to the large rebel Li Mi and his brother Li Jiancheng and adversary living proof of a successful reintegration of former rebels. Taizong appointed him ambassador in the north-eastern plateau where still held numerous rebels. Moral authority of the Emperor
Back in Chang'an, he was to give the moral authority of the emperor, who never shrank from the Emperor Taizong with a stirring rebuke. In the year 637 Taizong asked for a comparative review between his recent reign and his initial years in office, and Wei Zheng announced spontaneously:
" Avant que soit l'Empire pacifié, faisiez vous de la droiture et de la vertu of the notions centrales de votre action. Maintenant, pensant que l'Empire est sans problèmes, vous êtes progressive management devenus arrogant, dépensier, et suffisant. "

Wei Zheng led also knowledge major projects, such as the compilation of a Nouveau Livre des Rituels ( German: New Book of Rites ( Li Xin新 礼, or贞观 礼Zhenguan Li) ), which he presented 636 Taizong. Review and historical context
In the eyes of historians and Confucians of later times Wei Zheng Wei Zheng and the relationship / Taizong was widely admired and glossed over.
