Weigel (crater)

Weigel is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, south of the crater Schiller and northeast of Zucchius. The rim is moderately eroded and is superimposed in the southeast of the secondary craters Weigel A, the crater floor is level.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German naturalist and mathematician Erhard Weigel.
