Wekerle estate

Wekerle -telep is (Hungarian for Wekerle settlement ) is a district in the south-east of Budapest, next to Kispest and Pest Erzsébet.

The garden city of about 1000 houses built 1908-1924 for public officials of the city of Budapest and consists mostly of single-storey houses with gardens in a plexus wider rectangular and diagonal avenues. She is a very early example of a garden city actually built outside the UK and is still inhabited by mid officials.

The center is a park, around which the public buildings are created. The settlement was by Dr. Sándor Wekerle, the first non- aristocratic Hungarian prime minister, named.
