Wembach (Gersprenz)

The Wembach is about 8 km (by Langen Graben in the lower reaches 10.7 km ) long tributary of the left or south-westerly Gersprenz.

Course

The Wembach rises in the Devil's computation base, southeast of the upper Ramstädter district Rohrbach. It flows east to the village Wembach over, flows through clean home and opens into the Gersprenz. Part of the Wembachs fed at high tide the Long Trench, north of the united from Reinheimer pond with the Dilsbach to land moat, which opens into the Gersprenz after about one kilometer.

Data and character

The Wembach is fine material rich, calcareous means mountain stream. The grayling region is its dominant fish region. Its catchment area is 14.7 km ² and its Middle discharge ( MQ ) 114 l / s Its ecological status is reported as unsatisfactory.

Fauna

In Wembach brook trout, stone loach, three-spined stickleback, perch, gudgeon and roach occur.
