Wendy Davis (politician)

Wendy Russell Davis ( born May 16, 1963 in Fort Worth) is an American politician of the Democratic Party since 2009 and represents the 10th electoral district in the Senate of Texas.

Biography

Wendy Davis grew up in Texas in Fort Worth. According to the company she started 14 years ago to work to support her single mother. At 19, Wendy herself was a single mother. After graduating from Harvard University Wendy began her career as a lawyer. In 2008, she was elected to the Senate from Texas.

Political positions

Davis campaigns against cuts in education tasks and is an advocate of the right to abortion. When the Republicans wanted to enact a law prohibiting that abortion after the 20th week, she stopped in the Senate of Texas a eleven-hour filibuster speech to the decision to delay.
