Wenlock and Mandeville

Wenlock and Mandeville are the official mascots of the London Olympic Games held in 2012 and the subsequent Paralympics.

The mascots were unveiled to the public on 19 May 2010. For the second time since the 2010 Olympic Winter Games mascots of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games were presented at the same time.

The figures Wenlock and Mandeville put two steel drop of the steel industry in Bolton out its name back to the location of Much Wenlock, had where in 1850 the Wenlock Olympian Society Annual Games, a forerunner of the modern Olympic Games took place, and at Stoke Mandeville, a place in Buckinghamshire, where the first Wheelchair and amputee world Championships were held.
