Werle

The rule Werle was created after the First Mecklenburg main division of the state after the death of Henry II Borwin 1229-1235.

Territory

The rule Werle was in the area around Güstrow in today's state of Mecklenburg- Vorpommern and extended east to the Müritz. It was named after the then main castle Werle at Güstrow. She was Werle, today a district of Kassow and is barely visible and marked with a stone.

The reign fell apart several times in different part dominions. In 1282, Werle - Güstrow and Werle - Parchim emerged. Both were combined in 1292 to Nicholas II again. 1316 emerged Werle - Güstrow and Werle - Goldberg ( Parchim ). 1337 split from the former line still Werle merchandise from. With the death of the last regent on September 7, 1436 the government reverted to the Mecklenburg dynasty.

Princely House Werle

The princely house Werle was a side line of Mecklenburg princely family of Obodrites.

Progenitor of the House and First Gentleman to Werle was Nicholas I.. Already under his sons, the rule was further divided in 1277 ( Werle - Güstrow and Werle - Parchim ). Under Nicholas II succeeded in 1292 to unite the rule again. His death in 1316 led to a further division of the country. While his son John III.
