Werner Haim

Werner Haim ( born February 21, 1968 in Hall in Tirol ) is a former Austrian ski jumper.

Career

Haim gave on January 4, 1984 in Innsbruck his debut in the World Cup Ski Jumping. He reached the 99th place. At the Junior World Championships in 1985 in the Swiss Tasch he won the gold medal of the K80 ski jump. End of the season the World Cup season 1987/88 he first time the profit of World Cup points and also the first time succeeded in Planica in 5th place finishing in the top ten. After he had a weak start to the following season, he could jump from January 1989 regularly in the top 10. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1989 in Lahti, however, he was unable to build on it and was only 38th on the normal hill and landed on the large hill just on the 33rd. In the team competition, he managed with his team-mates on the 6th Place. After the World Cup, however, he could increase his power again. On 17 December 1989 he was in Sapporo for the first time on the podium in second place. Four weeks later, on 14 January 1990 he first won in Liberec jumping. However, it was also the only World Cup victory of his career. The season he finished in 9th place in the overall World Cup standings. He repeated this success by continuing good performance for season 1992 /93. This season, he was able to repeatedly demonstrate podiums, so among other things in ski flying at Kulm. After this season, but his performance to be noticeably, so he again took off in 1993 in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup, in which he previously several parallel already achieved good rankings. He remained there after 1994 largely unsuccessful, which is why he ended his active career ski jump after the 1994/95 season.
