Werner Pöhlert

Werner Pöhlert ( born September 30, 1928 in Hamburg, † 30 September 2000) was a jazz guitarist and publicist. He was elected in 1956 by jazz Poll as the best German jazz guitarist. At that time he was a member of Wolfgang Lauth Quartet. Moreover, he worked as a university lecturer. One of his works is his book " basic harmony ".

Pöhlert was guitarist in the named after him, " Werner Pöhlert Combo". His son Jochen Pöhlert ( b. 1957 ) studied music with him and was also a guitarist in his combo.
