Wesley Johnson (basketball)

JaMarr Wesley Johnson ( born July 11, 1987 in Corsicana, Texas ) is an American professional basketball player.

College

After Johnson went on basket hunting two years for the Iowa State University, he moved to his Sophomorejahr at Syracuse University. According to NCAA rules, he had to go through the change, suspend his junior year. The fourth year he played for the basketball team the Syracuse Orangemen. After a successful season in which he was awarded the Big East Player of the Year, he decided to leave college and then on to play in the NBA.

NBA

When NBA Draft Johnson was drafted in fourth place of the Minnesota Timberwolves. In his first year Johnson scored 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. At the end of the season he was appointed to the NBA All- Rookie Second Team.

In the summer of 2012, he was transferred as part of an exchange transaction between the Wolves, New Orleans Hornets and the Phoenix Suns to the Suns.

In the offseason in 2013 he was taken by the Los Angeles Lakers under contract. He played there for a minimum amount of one million U.S. dollars.
