West Liberty is a village in Logan County, Ohio, United States. In 2000, the city had 1813 inhabitants. The place is located in Liberty Township in the south of the county. One of the founders of Sigma Chi, Benjamin Piatt Runkle, was born here.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.9 km ², with no appreciable water areas. The Mad River flows through the southeast of West Liberty.

U.S. Highway 68 runs as Detroit Street from north to south by West Liberty and forms the main street of the village. The main street in east-west direction is West Liberty State Route 245, the eastern terminus of State Route 508 is located at the intersection with U.S. 68 in the north of the settlement area; State Route 508 leads westward to De Graff.

Demography

At the time of the census of 2000, there were West Liberty 1813 people. The population density was 630.6 people per km ². There were 698 housing units at an average 242.8 per km ².
