Western Tool Works (automobile company)

Western Tool Works was an American automobile manufacturer, the 1905-1907 Galesburg (Illinois ) produced automobiles under the name Gale.

History

In addition to the cars, the company built also machine tools and wall safes. For automobile production came by DW Cook, who previously produced a car under his own name in Chicago (Illinois ) in individual production. About a sale via mail order company Sears, Roebuck and Company to Cook could not agree with the management, as Sears only less than 200, - wanted to pay U.S. $ per car. 1905 were only five copies (models A and B) built, but in the following year, demand rose sharply and different models were offered. Some cars were even exported to Europe and Australia.

1907 came the Western Tool Works in economic difficulties, focused on their core business and stopped the automobile. A total of 600 single-cylinder models and about 140 two-cylinder models had been manufactured in three years.

Models
