The community association Wethautal is a town in Burgenland district, in Saxony -Anhalt.

Geography

The municipality is situated on the eponymous Wethau as well as on the Saale.

History

. The municipality was founded on 1 January 2010, since unitary councils may have a maximum of eight member municipalities with 1,000 inhabitants, there was the same day the following changes:

  • Merger of the municipalities Abtlöbnitz (155 inhabitants), Casekirchen (246 inhabitants), Leislau (258 inhabitants) and Molau (542 inhabitants) to the new community Molauer country ( 1,201 inhabitants)
  • Merger of the municipalities Görschen (515 inhabitants), Löbitz ( 438 inhabitants) and Mertendorf ( 692 inhabitants) to the new community Mertendorf ( 1,645 inhabitants)
  • Merger of the municipalities Gieckau (333 inhabitants) and Wethau ( 685 inhabitants) to the new community Wethau ( 1,018 inhabitants)
  • Merger of the municipalities Meineweh ( 627 inhabitants), Pretzschendorf (173 inhabitants) and Unterkaka (290 inhabitants) to the new municipality Anhalt South ( 1,090 inhabitants)
  • Incorporation of the communities Goldschau (304 inhabitants), heath ground ( 667 inhabitants) and Waldau ( 492 inhabitants) in the city Osterfeld, whose population increased from 1,299 to 2,762

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was designed by the Kommunalheraldiker Jörg Mantzsch and approved on 1 October 2010 by the county.

Blazon: " square of silver and green; Field 1 and 4: a blue wave beams, field 2: a black Grooved golden tower with black rectangular doorway, a black window and the center patch of narrow brick spire, box 3. A golden mill wheel with four wide main spokes and four narrow Verstrebungsspeichen "

The colors of the municipality are blue - yellow.

Flag

The flag is blue - yellow (1:1) striped ( longitudinal shape: strip running vertically, cross- shape: strips running horizontally ) and centrally occupied with the arms of the municipality.

Traffic

Through the community association field lead the Federal Highway 9 and State Road 180 in Wethau, Mertendorf, Scheiplitz and bumps are railway stations on the railway line Naumburg - Teuchern.
