Wetsens

Wetsens is a small village in the municipality Dongeradeel in the Dutch province of Friesland. It is located northeast of Dokkum and has 70 inhabitants (2008 ).

Wetsens is built on a mound, on which also the Romanesque village church can be found from the 12th century. It is dedicated to St. Vitus and only the north wall consists of the tuff originally used. Also, there is still the small lake in Wetsens Jaerlagat.
