Wetzelsdorf

The district Wetzel village is the 15th district of Graz. It is located in the west of the city ( ie on the " rights Murseite " ) between the districts of Eggenberg in the north and in the south Straßgang.

History

Originally belonging to Eggenberg district developed in the 19th century along the southern railway line and the Old Post Road as a commercial area with workers' quarters. After the "Anschluss " of Austria in 1938 Wetzel village was incorporated into "Greater Graz ".

The transport connection is via the stop Wetzel village of Graz- Köflacher lines, buses 31, 33, 62 and 64, and on the tram line 7, which ends at the northern edge of the district.

The urban development of the industrial district is funded by the EU-supported program Urban Link Graz -West.

Also to be built on the district belonging to Reininghausstraße reasons by the company Asset One, a new district, the construction has already begun.

Located along the western county line is the 555 m high Mount of Olives in a wooded area; this will pass under the Plabutschtunnel the Phyrn motorway (A 9).
