Geography

The river rises west of the town Whangamomona in the amount of Whangamomona - saddle over which the State Highway 43 runs east - west direction. From its source the river flows in an easterly direction, turns in altitude is Whangamomona the südsüdwestlichen toward and finally ends at the northern edge of the Matemateaonga Range at river kilometer 103 in the Whanganui River.

Curiosity

As the river is part of the catchment of the Whanganui River, in 1989 decided in a restructuring of the regions from Wellington, slammed the catchment area of the river and hence the location of the Manawatu -Wanganui region, although the place itself at the district level to the Stratford District and therefore actually belongs to the Taranaki region. This led to the resistance of the population and to the proclamation of the Republic of Whangamomona.
