Whangara

Whangara is a small town in the northeast of the North Island of New Zealand. It lies between the approximately 15 km south-west to Gisborne and 22 km north-eastern Tolaga Bay, five kilometers southwest of Cape Gable End Foreland.

State Highway 35 runs two kilometers to the west past the place.

Whangara is known as the place where the novel and movie " Whale Rider " play and the film was shot.
