Whirlwind-Mill

The name Whirlwind Mill (literally: " Whirlwind Mill" ) is derived from the function of the device and is considered a fine impact mill.

Development

The mill was designed as an air -swept mill. The rotor and stator are conical with about 12 °, with an entry of the product from the bottom. This makes it possible to change the grinding gap in the range 0-8 mm in a simple manner by lifting or lowering of the stator.

Function

The rotor with U- shaped grinding elements in mostly four levels, mounted on two tool carriers rings rotates in a stator housing. This is being protected from wear by a corrugated grinding surface. The ground material is fed from the top and falls on the top plate of the rotor. Force accelerating tools on the top plate of the Checked Good by radial acceleration in an orbit at a speed of about 125 m / s The forming of the four levels and through the U- shaped grinding tool chambers provide a high speed in the columns from chamber to chamber, or from level to level. Due to the very narrow grinding gap, for example 0.5 mm very fine products reach nor a sufficient impact speed on the grinding surface of the stator.

Area of application

Feinprallvermahlung of soft to medium -hard products.

  • Chemicals
  • Rubber ( Selektivvermahlung )
  • Plastics into powder
  • Minerals (eg, fillers)
  • Food
  • Pulp ( eg waste paper to Wärmeisolierstoffe )
