White-throated Francolin ( Francolinus albogularis )

The White-throated Francolin ( Francolinus albogularis ) is a species of the genus of Frankoline from the family of pheasant -like ( Phasianidae ).

Features

Males and females are very similar. The cocks have a gray face with red-brown spots. The face is mostly white, only the ear-coverts are gray and under the eyes and on the sides of the neck, the plumage is dark yellow. The top is brown -gray, the wing-coverts are chestnut- brown, the Federschäfte are creamy white and slightly red-yellow banded. The page on the tail feathers are reddish brown. Chin and throat are all white, the rest of the underside is yellow ocher. Breast and flanks are decorated with some red stripes. The hens differ only in their delicate black and white banded chest and flanks.

Dissemination

The White-throated Francolin is used in three unrelated areas in Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire to Cameroon and Zaire, Zambia and Angola. It lives in open areas such as savannas, patchy vegetated hills and abandoned fields.

Way of life

The voice of the valves is that of Coquifrankolins very similar, but the calls are rapidly exhausted sequentially. A clutch consists of 4-7 light brown speckled eggs.
