Whittlesea (formerly Bulhoek or Bullhoek ) is a place in South Africa's Eastern Cape Province. He belongs to the municipality in the district of Chris Hani Lukhanji. In 2011 he had 14,756 inhabitants. It lies at an altitude of 1,094 meters above sea level and is located approximately 30 kilometers south of Queenstown.

The place was in 1921 the scene of the massacre of Bulhoek with 169 dead, followers of the Prophet Enoch and his Mgijima emerged from the Mission Christianity Israelite Movement ( The Israelites ).
