Whores' Glory

Whores' Glory is a documentary by Michael Glawogger from 2011 uncommented It shows the everyday work of prostitutes in three different cultures. Buddhist Thailand, Bangladesh Muslim and Catholic Mexico.

Action

The film is analogous to the three venues in the cities of Bangkok ( Thailand), Faridpur (Bangladesh) and Reynosa (Mexico) divided into three episodes:

In the first part of the daily life of prostitutes in Bangkok in a so-called fishtank (English aquarium) is shown. The women sitting in a brightly lit glass room, waiting to be chosen by the customer in the hall and called her number.

The second scene is a huge brothel, called Ananda Nagar ( " City of Joy " ), in the small town of Faridpur in Bangladesh. There live and work 600 to 800 women in a confined space. They were mostly bought as a young girl by her madam in order to commit to a certain amount of time to process against the promise of a relatively safe place to live and a subsequent " supply " their expensive purchase price.

The third part is in the city of Reynosa, near the Texas border. There are - as in other Mexican cities - the legal places of prostitution as a de zonas tolerancia (tolerance zone ) respectively. The entrance to the Zona is secured with barriers and is monitored by the police.
