Why Do Fools Fall in Love Diana Ross was the first album after the breakup of Motown and the first one that was issued by RCA Records. It was named after a cover of Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers, which opens the album. The song Sweet Nothings is also a hit from the 1950s and was written by Ronnie Self for Brenda Lee. The album features compositions by songwriters who have written for Ross. Most compositions are by keyboardist Ray Chew. Ross himself participated only at Body Work did the songwriting. Furthermore, it is also included a solo version of the duet Endless Love with Lionel Richie.
