Wielka Wies ( German Großendorf ) is a village in the powiat Słupski the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

Wielka Wies located in Pomerania, about 23 kilometers northeast of Slupsk ( Stolp ), ten kilometers south of the Lebasees and 80 kilometers west of the regional capital Gdańsk.

History

In older times Großendorf (formerly Grotendorp, Zarrentin, Sarrentin, Czarrentin ) was a fief of the Stojentin family. 1469 the brothers Klaus and Lorenz von Stojentin were invested with all Czerntin. In 1686 the estate was by marriage to the family Podewils over which it had until 1797, in possession. Around 1784, there was a big village Vorwerk, 16 farmers, three Kossäten, an inn, a blacksmith, a schoolmaster and a total of 23 households. The farm was located at that time in possession of Friedrich Heinrich Graf von Podewils.

Before the end of World War II Great village was the seat of the administrative district Großendorf in the district of Stolp in the administrative region of Pomerania Pomerania. The municipal area was 1,502 acres in size. 1925 unable to Großendorf 64 houses. In 1939 553 residents were counted, who lived in 102 households.

Last landowner until 1945 Friedrich Leo von Schwerdtner. Towards the end of the Second World War, the region was occupied on March 9, 1945 by the Red Army and soon found it under Polish administration. In the context of Polish expropriation measures newly immigrated Poland occupied the houses and farms and expelled the inhabitants.

256 and GDR 92 expelled from Großendorf villagers were later identified in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The village is now a part of Gmina Główczyce (Town Glowitz ). In 2008 Wielka Wies had 460 inhabitants.
