The Vienna Leopoldau station is an underground and S -Bahn nodes in the 21st district of Vienna Floridsdorf. Here hold regional trains as well as two S -Bahn lines. After the construction of a gas plant in Leopoldau in 1911 a railway station was built the following year, which should facilitate the supply of coal for the gas works and also relieve the Floridsdorfer marshalling yard. The station Leopoldau loading point was thus part of the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway. On 2 September 2006, the south of the existing northern railway line built underground station was opened with the start of the so far last section of the U1 between stations Kagran and Leopoldau.
